Job Description
Local manufacturing company in Tampa is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Wood Coatings Color Matcher to join our team of professionals in Tampa, FL.
Key Responsibilities
The Color Matcher will be responsible for the mixing, formulating, and application of coatings for our customer base. These coatings are developed to be sprayed on to kitchen cabinets and woodworking projects. He/she will also provide warehouse support when required, assisting warehouse management and staff in ensuring our customers receive an exceptional product and service.
- Mix, formulate, and apply coatings and tints to sample materials
- Read job orders and inspect surfaces to determine procedures and materials required
- Properly clean and prepare surfaces for various coating and tinting jobs
- Inspect finished product for color accuracy
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order
- Provide warehouse support when required, assisting with inventory management, shipping/receiving, forklift operation, etc.
- Sort and organize merchandise so that it can be easily located
- Keep records of items received and damaged merchandise returned
- Provide support to customers when needed
- Work with other members of the distribution team to increase company profitability and overall customer satisfaction
- Check product against orders for accuracy
- Ensure all orders leave the facility in a manner consistent with Company Core Values
- Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Required Continually: standing, the utilization of hand and finger dexterity, and the utilization of visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
- Required Frequently: walking, talking, hearing, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling or crawling, lifting/pushing/carrying items up to 50 pounds, working near moving mechanical parts, and working around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
- Hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm
What We Are Looking For
- Knowledge of the wood coatings industry would be a plus (lacquers/stains)
- Must be able to, or be willing to learn how to, operate a forklift
- Capable of standing for long periods of time, with the ability to bend and reach overhead
- Ability to lift more than 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Excellent driving record, free of violations
- High school diploma required, 1 or more years of post high school studies preferred
