Job Description
Monday thru Friday 6:30am or 7:00am to 2:30pm or 3:00pm
$18.00 to $20.00 per hour
JOB SUMMARY:
Maintains quality standards by inspecting and disposing incoming material, in-process production, and finished products to specifications. Records quality results and reports as required.Â
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conducting Visual and Dimensional measurements of incoming material. Rejecting unacceptable material and coordinating the return of the material to the vendor.
2. Must be proficient in use of various gauges and other measurement devices, such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges, and visual inspection equipment to perform measurement tests.
3. Create Keyence Visual Inspection Programs for incoming parts and utilize where appropriate.
4. Perform First Article Inspection on new or revised mechanical parts.
5. Ensures measurement equipment is properly calibrated and operating. Calls for repairs as required.
6. Documents inspection results by completing inspection records, reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into company database or tracking logs.
7. Gather needed data for Material Review Board (MRB). Schedule meetings, log MRB actions and disposition plans. Follow-up with vendors.
8. Perform periodic product audits.
9. Assist with Internal Corrective Action activities for non-conforming products, production processes as well as External Supplier Corrective Action issuance and follow through to completion.
10. Assists in developing and maintaining inspection plans, work instructions, C of C generation, vendor communication, and vendor returns.
11. Participate in quarterly regulatory audits from certification bodies for the company products.
12. Assists with periodic audits of the Company’s Quality Management Systems as assigned to determine compliance and recommends improvements based on audit findings.
13. May assist with on-site product and quality system audits of Key suppliers as directed.
14. Provides necessary support to other departments as needed to resolve problems or quality issues as needed.
15. Makes recommendation for quality system improvements and methods to increase department and Company efficiencies and quality standards.
16. Perform all other duties as assigned or directed by QA and Regulatory Affairs Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS:
· Detail oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
· Excellent problem-solving skills.
· Good verbal and written skills.
· Ability to use measuring tools to confirm dimensions and specifications
· Keyence Measurement System Programming and Operation
· Knowledge of Quality System requirements.
· Familiarity with QA control methods, e.g., use of sampling plans.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
· Ability to perform mechanical, dimensional and electronics inspections and interpret results.
EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum 5 years inspection of electro-mechanical inspection experience required.
 · Minimum 2 years computer skills with spreadsheet, formatting, charting and formulas.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Ability to stand as needed, up to 7 hours per day.
· Ability to bend and stretch as needed, to store and retrieve materials and perform filing.
· Ability to lift boxes or other objects weighing up to 20 lbs. to eye level safely.
· Sufficient visual acuity, allowing for unmagnified dimensional inspection of items to 1.0 mm and reading of small print.
Must be able to read, write and speak English, to include written and verbal instructions.
