Local manufacturing company in St. Petersburg, Florida in need of a Mold Designer.
Job Description:
Must have 10+ years-experience designing Class A / Class 101 plastic injection molds using SolidWorks. Experience to include single, multi-cavity, and fully automatic injection molds along with the use of the most current hot runner technology. Must be able to manage a project from concepts to complete details with energy and enthusiasm. Needs to be an effective communicator with an attention to detail. Must be reliable and dependable who is self-motivated with a passion for learning and seeking growth both personal and professional.
Mold Designer Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Mold Designer you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:
Mold Designer Skills and Attributes are Preferred
Mold Designer Qualifications:
Education:
Preferred: Certificate from any technical/trade school or college
Technical: Preferred: Strong SolidWorks skills
Preferred: Medical manufacturing experience helpful
Preferred: Machine shop experience preferred
Must be able to read, write and speak English to include written and verbal instructions.

Mold Designer Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Mold Designer you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:
- Conduct design concept meetings, design review meetings, conduct customer reviews and kick-off meetings with shop personnel and the engineering team.
- Interface with mold shop, programming, quality control inspection, co-workers and upper management in order to maintain open communication.
- Meet schedules and maintain quality standards.
Mold Designer Skills and Attributes are Preferred
- Experience with high cavitation injection molds
- Ability to fully detail and apply functional tolerances to drawings
- Experience working with hot runner suppliers to specify interfaces to mold
- Experience designing unscrewing molds a plus but not required
- SolidWorks plastics is a plus but not required
