Job Description

Clearwater based manufacturing company in need of an experienced Machinist to join their team.

Monday thru Friday 1st shift

Indoors with climate controls (Air Conditioning).

$20.00 to $23.00 per hour depending on experience.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible to plan, set-up and operate a variety of both manual and CNC lathes and mills in the machine shop. Ability to write programs for both CNC lathes and mill by interpretation of engineering drawings is a requirement. Provide technical assistance and review the work of others when functioning in the capacity of a Lead role as directed by the Supervisor. Perform TPM activities on all equipment as specified. Complete first article reports on all startups and create first piece approvals prior to production.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Achieves production work order schedule with the utilization of all available resources and notifies the Team Leader of schedule difficulties.
2. Where required, maintains authorized production documentation, log book tracking, and other forms as assigned.
3. Maintains tool records and offset information as requested.
4. Responsible to complete a first piece inspection record at the start of each work order and ensure the specifications are maintained throughout the production order.
5. Maintains all assembly fixtures, jigs, cutting tools and special devices in serviceable order.
6. Ensures standard production tooling and supply inventories are maintained at adequate stocking levels to allow for efficient production.
7. Assists in the design and fabrication of various fixtures and tooling that will enhance production capability.
8. Works with the supervisor as requested on the design and fabrication of prototype assemblies, fixtures, and tooling.
9. Machines products utilizing prints, process instruction and/or verbal instructions as required.
10. Programs CNC lathes and mills based on interpretation of engineering drawings.
11. Understands and adheres to ALL Safety, Quality, and Company Operating Procedures.
12. Provides input for method improvements to enhance production efficiency and promote product quality.
13. Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.

 QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
? Ability to interpret prints and processes and follow instructions
? Ability to program CNC lathes and Mills.
? Strong communication skills
? Highly detail oriented
? Strong computer skills
? Self starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
? Experience with Haas, Mazak and Swiss lathes.
? Good follow through skills
? Strong problem solving skills
? Strong mechanical aptitude combined with advanced shop mathematics

EDUCATION:
High School / GED and minimum one of year advanced technical training.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum five plus (5+) years of combined Manual and CNC experience required. Experience using all standard machine shop equipment required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with arms, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 30lbs continuously. Must be able to hear and converse directly with co-workers. Job requires the regular use of magnifying assistance to view small parts and details of parts.
