Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated components to assemble units such as machinery frames and bins by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc and gas-shielded arc (M.I.G. and T.I.G.) welding equipment.
Assembles parts by bolting.
Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
Ensures that welds are cosmetically as well as structurally sound.
Inspects parts and assemblies according to specifications on engineering drawings and accompanying documentation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. One to three months related experience and/or training.
