Collecting vibration data with the ADRE for Windows software using existing customer monitoring equipment or field fit machine with probes and keyphasor directly to DAIU.
Directing mechanical and electrical support as needed with field balancing activities.
Support supervising engineers with in-house and field test equipment calibration and replacement repairing and maintaining the instrumentation, robotic controllers, other equipment, and sensory readouts.
Candidate will perform diagnostics, assessing equipment for any malfunctions or sluggishness and is expected to identify and repair instrumentation systems that fall under their responsibility as necessary. Additionally, many manufacturing plants report data for efficiency and environmental data, and the I&C technician must ensure that the data recorded by instrumentation is accurate.
In-service Inspections (ISI)
Perform In-Service-Inspections for Medium and Large Steam Turbine Generators to include data collection from instrumentation as related to mechanical readiness, electronic efficiency and overall system performance.
Testing, calibration, repair and replacement of controls and subsystem instrumentation such as pressure/temperature transmitters, pressure/temperature switches, PI’ s, TI’ s, RTD’ s, LVDT’ s, thermocouples, proximity probes, proximeters, transducers. Assist with installation of Bently Nevada monitors and overspeed protection.
Responsible for wire checking and ensuring unit integrity for TurboNet DASH 1 components and other devices to include: Circuit Boards, Relays, Switches, Data Devices and User Interface Equipment. Involved with Proto-typing, Revisions, and Final Assembly of circuit cards for the TurboNet DASH 1 system.
Assisting with minor inspection/repair, and the support of major inspection/outages. Inspecting for pipe stress, foundation/platform integrity, and making recommendations as needed. Insuring the plants vibration monitoring equipment is correctly labeled and displaying good values.
Ability to interpret control drawings and P&ID’ s.
Ability to make maintenance related decisions with minimum direct supervision.
Knowledge of instrumentation test equipment, signal generators, relay tests sets, oscilloscopes and computers.
Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of electricity and mathematics.
Basic computer knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point.
Education and Experience:
A two year technical degree and minimum of 5 years of power plant and/or industrial electrical, instrumentation or electronics experience is required.
In lieu of a degree, significant power plant and/or industrial electrical or electronics experience may also qualify an applicant for this position.
Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), GE Mark IV Gas Turbine Control System, and Delta V Steam Turbine Control System programming and configuration preferred.
